Job Description

Essential Duties:

Engages in the application of the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to carry out the subsequent responsibilities:

  • Gathers thorough information relevant to the health status or circumstances of the healthcare recipient.
  • Evaluates the assessment information to ascertain the diagnosis or problems at hand.
  • Determines the anticipated results for a tailor-made strategy designed for the healthcare recipient in question.
  • Creates a structured approach outlining tactics and choices to achieve desired results.
  • Carries out the devised strategy. Ensures the advancement of the patient in accordance with the plan.
  • Coordination of care involves arranging the delivery of healthcare services.
  • Health education and health promotion involve utilizing tactics to enhance wellness and ensure a secure setting.
  • Consultation involves the advanced practice registered nurse and nursing role specialist offering guidance to impact the established strategy, improve the skills of individuals, and bring about transformation.
  • Assesses the advancement made in achieving desired results.

  • Improves the caliber and efficiency of nursing care in a methodical manner
  • Achieves expertise and skillset that mirrors contemporary nursing standards

  • The responsibilities of a Registered Professional Nurse are defined by the state in which they work and involve providing skilled and compliant care according to established standards, policies, and regulations set by accrediting bodies.
  • Adheres to the guidelines outlined in the Nursing Code of Ethics set forth by the American Nurses Association in 2010.

Demonstrates expert use of relevant technology and software for:

  • Assist and record nursing tasks and patient treatment.
  • Utilize essential work-related software needed to actively participate as a valued employee of the company, including accessing your corporate email, completing iLearn training modules, participating in employee surveys, reviewing details about benefits and compensation, and familiarizing yourself with organizational policies and protocols.
  • Consistently looks for chances to enhance the standard of patient care by employing inventive and original approaches to solving problems.
  • Additional tasks may be required as delegated.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
