Job Summary of Assistant Branch Executive:
As an Assistant Branch Executive, you will be in charge of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the branch, mentoring and training teller staff, and collaborating with the Branch Manager to establish a thriving sales culture. Your primary objective is to actively assist clients in reaching their financial goals by promoting various bank products and services, and by referring them to other bank specialists as needed. In the absence of the Branch Manager, you will be expected to take on full managerial duties.
Responsibilities of Assistant Branch Executive:
- Oversee processing a variety of routine financial transactions, including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, and loan payments.
- Responsible for acting as a leader in sales, operations, and client service. Manage the operations of the branch along with the training, mentoring, and coaching of the teller team.
- Assist with operational tasks and ensure they are completed on time. Adhere to policy and procedures to minimize risk and achieve satisfactory internal audit results.
- Assist clients by gaining an understanding of their current and future financial needs by engaging in proactive discussions using the Banner Way process and tools.
- Responsible for presenting tailored solutions that meet the client’s specific financial needs. Refer clients to other lines of business as appropriate. Answer questions and resolve technical problems on client accounts.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of all operational processes and requirements; meets compliance standards.
- Responsible for complying with, and ensuring staff follows, policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations.
Requirements of Assistant Branch Executive:
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
- NMLS registration preferred
- 4 or more years of retail banking experience required
- 0 to 2 years of experience in a supervisory/management role leading a project, process or team Required
Skills of Assistant Branch Executive:
- Extensive familiarity with the core tenets that govern retail product philosophy, policies, and procedural frameworks. Detailed knowledge of the diverse range of retail products and services. Established proficiency in navigating complex account structures, consumer financing arrangements, and QuickStep lending processes.
- Demonstrated ability in customer support, communication, and fostering connections. Proficient in verbal and written interactions with a strong understanding of professional phone and email communication etiquette.
- Have sound abilities in sales tactics, cross-selling techniques, and referral programs.
- Display strong mathematical competencies, analytical reasoning skills, and effective negotiation techniques.
- Capacity to scrutinize client credit information and other relevant financial data effectively.
- Working in a position focused on financial sales representatives.

What is expected from candidates applying to be an Assistant Branch Manager:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent is a prerequisite for this position
