As a Physical Therapist in the inpatient services area, you will provide direct care to patients of all ages, from birth to geriatric, aiming to improve their physical health and functional abilities. Additionally, you will perform operational duties for the Rehab Services Department as required.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Applies sound critical thinking and judgment in delivering care. Executes all treatment procedures in line with established national, departmental, and evidence-based standards. Provides care that meets or surpasses departmental outcome expectations.
• Records information promptly and accurately, ensuring it supports medical necessity and complies with departmental standards.
• Submits necessary billing paperwork, ensuring accurate charges and authorizations. Effectively manages time in line with departmental productivity standards.
• Takes initiative in personal professional growth. Completes all required education for Monument Health and licensure/certification on time. Actively advocates for the profession both within Monument Health and in the broader community.
• Provides supervision in accordance with state, federal, and professional association standards.
• Involves and educates the patient, family, and caregivers in the treatment process, goal setting, and discharge planning as needed.
• Adheres to all regulatory requirements related to insurance, accrediting bodies, and national and state regulatory agencies.
• All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Bachelors: Physical TherapyCertification - Physical Therapist (PT) - South Dakota Board of Physical Therapy

Preferred:

Education - Masters: Physical Therapy

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
